The multisensory restaurant

Friday, August 17th, 2012

Paul Pairet, a celebrated Shanghai chef, created the ultimative dining experience in his Ultraviolet Restaurant. Audio visual technology is included to appeal to all five senses. The “psycho-taste” of the diner determines the ingredients of the experience, and there is a subtle coordination with the meal so as to establish an extraordinarily memorable event. The meal is taken in a windowless room in a secret location, and the chef controls every element of 20 course dinner.

On the website, it is possible to dig into the conceptual mindset of Pairet, where the brochure reveals the philosophy. A video provides a glimpse of the audiovisual experience, where the atmosphere is changing to accommodate for the food.
